If you find a used needle or syringe –
Do Not Touch It

 

24 hour needle find reporting system

 

If you see a needle/syringe in a public place you can report it for official removal by trained staff

To report a needle/syringe find:

  • Phoneline 01253 477477 takes you to the Customer First service staffed Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm, Saturday 10am- 4pm

Please provide clear details of where you saw the needle/syringe

 

Advice for children

Children should be told that they should never touch needles or syringes – Instead they should report what they have seen to an adult they know.

 

If you ever get a needlestick injury:

Don't

  • Suck it

 

Do

 

  • Squeeze it to make it bleed
  • Wash with soapy water
  • Go to Accident and Emergency immediately – within two hours if at all possible
  • Ring the numbers above to report the find.
