Blackpool’s First Drugs & Alcohol Training Centre

October 2007 sees the launch of Drugline Lancashire Ltds long awaited Drugs and Alcohol Training Centre.

Shughie Morrison, course tutor, explained that for some time there had been recognition of the lack of training provision locally, regional and nationally in the Drug and Alcohol field, for professionals, communities and employers.

To meet this need, Drugline will be offering courses on such topics as

  • Community awareness of drugs
  • Needle exchange and sharps find
  • Safer clubbing
  • Cannabis and mental health,
  • as well as full national professional qualifications.

Courses can be tailor made to meet the needs of individual employers and organisations and discounts can be made for group bookings.  Shughie is looking forward to working with local employers in developing policies and procedures for helping employees and themselves manage Drug and Alcohol issues, working with local community groups in working towards a greater understanding of the issues facing their communities and helping to turn those communities around.

Work will also be undertaken with local, regional and national front line workers in gaining Nationally recognised qualifications, leading to a better prepared workforce to meet the ever increasing challenges of the sector.

For more information regarding courses on offer and to receive a brochure contact;
